What is our OUTAcademy?

OUTAcademy is our global education and training platform, built to inform, challenge, and inspire action.

Driven by what we witness around the world, OUTAcademy exists to educate the wider public about the realities facing LGBTQI+ communities across different nation states, including the United Kingdom. It is also our hub to train the next generation of LGBTQI+ leaders, researchers, and advocates. We turn lived experience into learning that matters.

From professional training that strengthens practice, to podcasts amplifying activists’ voices, to engaging workshops for schools, colleges, universities, and the wider public, our Education and Training Officers bring global LGBTQI+ realities to life.

Whether you’re an institution or an individual wanting to learn, reflect, and act, our OUTAcademy is for you. Explore our past and upcoming work below.

Podcast Host Speaking

OUTAcademy: Hidden Voices Podcasts

Hidden Voices was a powerful podcast series recorded between 2020 and 2022, capturing the lived realities of LGBTQI+ people across the globe.

Featuring 20 voices from 20 different nation states, the series was created in close collaboration with individuals and activists who bravely shared their stories, often in contexts where being heard carries real risk. These conversations document resilience, resistance, and everyday life, offering rare insight into global LGBTQI+ experiences beyond headlines and statistics.

We warmly invite you to listen, learn, and bear witness to these voices here.

How our research and education informs our campaigning

ReportOUT’s research and education programmes directly power our global campaigns and advocacy. Our evidence-based research identifies urgent human rights violations and systemic gaps, while our training equips LGBTQI+ activists, leaders, and organisations with the skills to respond strategically.

Together, they create a cycle of impact: research informs advocacy priorities, education strengthens grassroots and global leadership, and our campaigns translate knowledge into action at national and international levels, including engagement with UN mechanisms and global policy spaces.
